MANATEE COUNTY - Burglars have stolen two safes containing approximately $28,000 worth of contents from a North Manatee County home.

It happened Tuesday sometime between 7:30am and 4:30pm in the 3000 block of 105th Street East.

While the resident was at work, somebody smashed out a window in the home and ransacked three rooms.  According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report, the thief or thieves stole a 700 lb. safe containing 23 guns valued at $15,000, and a small 50lb safe that was bolted to the wall and contained approximately $7,000.00 in cash, $3,000.00 in jewelry and coins and $3,000.00 in savings bonds from the master bedroom.

There are no known suspects at this time.

The victim is a member of the Manatee Gun Club and has no idea who may have done this.
