Trevor Shirley joined the ABC7 News team in October 2011. Before that, he spent a year as a reporter and anchor at FOX-28 News in South Bend, Indiana…but after his only winter there (one that dropped more than a hundred inches of snow!!), Trevor knew it was time to head South.
Born in Chicago but raised in Indianapolis, Trevor is a true Midwesterner at heart. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2010, a place he has fond memories of and gets back to as often as he can.
Trevor is lucky enough to have family in Sarasota, and grew up vacationing here. The decision to move to the Suncoast was an easy one, as it feels like his second home.
When he’s not chasing the latest breaking news story, Trevor enjoys reading, running, swimming and checking out great restaurants (something he’s very excited to do on the Suncoast!).
Trevor also enjoys scuba diving when he gets the chance, and is always up for travelling.
