Award winning journalist Max Winitz has finally come back to the Sunshine State! The Miami native joined the ABC 7 news team in January 2011.
Max started his career in broadcasting as a reporter and weekend anchor with WECT, the NBC affiliate in Wilmington, North Carolina.
During his time in the Tar Heel state, Max received numerous accolades from the Associated Press and The Radio-Television-Digital-News-Association, including being nominated for the 2010 Reporter of the Year award.
In 2009, Max was the only television reporter from the Wilmington market to cover the Inauguration of President Barack Obama in our Nation’s Capital. He has also conducted one on one interviews with Hilary Clinton and numerous other politicians.
Max graduated from the Ed McMahon School of Communications at Quinnipiac University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. When in college, Max interned with Miami television stations, WTVJ-NBC 6 and WPLG-Local 10.
In his spare time, you’ll likely find Max trying to reel in a big bass, dining at some of the Suncoast’s tastiest restaurants, attending sporting events and spending time with his family in South Florida.
