Alix Redmonde is Health & Medical Reporter at ABC 7. She joins the station from down the block at SNN, where she produced and hosted the SNN program, “Local Doctors on Call". Alix also reports on health and fitness for the Herald-Tribune Media Group and is a former radio host on AM1220, WSRQ.
Born in Los Angeles to English parents, Alix has lived and worked on three continents and speaks French and Japanese. (She has all but banished her native English accent!) Alix has been a fitness expert for more than 25 years, teaching exercise classes in Los Angeles, New York, The United Kingdom and Japan. She has also appeared several media outlets to promote a healthy lifestyle, including: Food Network, CNBC, WNYW’s “Good Day New York,” KTLA, Lifetime and NY1. In addition, Alix has written for numerous magazines, including: Men’s Exercise, Exercise for Men Only, Fitness Shape and Elle. She is also Co-Author of the book, “It’s Great to be Different,” which teaches children confidence, self-esteem and respect.
An equestrian, Alix trains several times a week with her thoroughbred horse, Patriot. She moved to the Suncoast in 2002 and lives in Sarasota County with her three dogs, six cats and two doves.
