Joey Panek

As comfortable on camera as he is at a cocktail party, Joey Panek hails originally from Syracuse, NY where he was captivated by stage and screen from an early age. His acting aspirations led him to New York City, where he began a 13-year professional stage career. Joey performed at professional regional theaters throughout the east coast. He starred in national tours and danced throughout Italy in a tour of West Side Story before making the Suncoast his home.

In 2009, he joined the HuB Incubator in Downtown Sarasota. His first project was a "webisodic" video campaign entitled "I Love Downtown Sarasota", featuring Joey in costume as the Sarasota Elf. The campaign garnered so much traction, it launched a digital marketing company at the HuB with Joey at the helm. He later partnered with the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County and Gulf Coast Community Foundation to create a new video series, "The Art Whisperer", aimed at connecting young professionals to the local arts scene.

Joey's videos continued with a strong following, leading him to partner with fellow entrepreneurs, Rich Swier, Jr. and Lucas Colavecchio in HuB Studios, a video production company specializing in web video marketing.

You can now find Joey online exploring pop culture and web trends at, and as one of the stars of Saratopia, an original web-series satirizing the lovely city of Sarasota.

An exercise enthusiast, Joey is active in local fitness programs and is one of the directors of Dance Trance Sarasota, a dance fitness class at the YMCA. Joey is also a producing member of Lazy Fairy Improv, performing regularly with the troupe and leading improv-based team building workshops and custom improv shows.

Active in the community, Joey volunteers for several organizations as a frequent emcee. He also lends his singing talents to annual fundraising cabarets for ALSO Youth, where he is active on the board. He's the proud father of a long-haired chihuahua named Lulu, and in his spare time he plans to save the world through entertainment and martinis.
