Frank Alcock has been serving as a political commentator for ABC 7 since the summer of 2007.

Frank is an Associate Professor of Political Science at New College of Florida where he teaches courses on world politics, international law and environmental studies. Frank holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University, a M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Binghamton University. His academic research covers issues of sustainable development, trade and global environmental politics with a focus on energy, oceans and marine policy. His public policy interests extend far beyond that, however, and include a broad range of domestic and foreign policy issues.

Prior to obtaining his doctorate Frank spent five and a half years as an economist and policy analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy and three years as a Belfer Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Since 2006, Frank has also been serving as the Director of a new Marine Policy Institute at Mote Marine Laboratory. He lives in Sarasota, FL with his wife Sharon and their twin daughers, Katelin and Abigail.
