Hayley Wielgus is excited to join the ABC 7 team! She comes to the Suncoast from KYTX CBS 19 in Tyler, Texas where she was a reporter and weekend anchor.
Prior to CBS 19, Hayley worked for Bloomberg Television in Washington, D.C. She covered the economy and political happenings on Capitol Hill, as well as the 2008 Presidential Election.
Hayley was born and raised in Texas and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University. Gig 'em Aggies! She received her Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
While in the Chicago, Hayley worked as a television and business print reporter for the Medill News Service. She reported and anchored for a weekly show on the PBS affiliate WYCC-TV.
Hayley plans to become an active member of the Suncoast community. She is a certified Special Olympics swim coach and volunteers through the Junior League. Hayley is a fitness fanatic, so you can often find her at the gym or running outside with her dog, Mattie. She loves sports and is an avid Astros, Cubs and Steelers fan!
Hayley anchors ABC 7 News Sunrise and ABC 7 News at noon.
