If local sports, whether it’s SEC football, high school or college sports or just the neighborhood little league game is what you think local sports should be, WAAY-TV, in Huntsville, Alabama is looking for you. We are in the heart of SEC country, surrounded by prime hunting and fishing spots and a place where prep sports is still very important to our viewers.

If local sports is your dream job and you can shoot, write and edit your own stories; produce, write and anchor sportscasts, produce special sports presentations like high school and college football shows as well as crafting feature stories daily, you need to submit your resume today. We want someone to join our team who can do much more than give scores and voice highlights - we want memorable and meaningful sports stories.

The ideal candidate for this sports position must be proficient in writing and posting to various websites and social media outlets, able to work independently and as a leader in the sports department, generate daily local sports stories and produce innovative content for all newscasts on our station and all media partners. You must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, a degree in Communications, Journalism or related field and a strong desire to be part of a news organization who wants to break the mold from other’s with their sports content on air and on the web. In your cover letter, please explain in detail your news philosophy and how you would like to make a difference in our newsroom.
