WAAY-TV, in Huntsville, Alabama has an immediate opening for a News Photojournalist - Editor. We are looking for someone who is a creative team player, who shoots great video for every assignment and puts it together in whatever form is required; vo, vo-sot, package, documentary, website, social media, etc.

The successful candidate will also be able to post to and write copy for the station’s website and social media sites from the station or in the field for our station as well as any media partner WAAY is associated. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of ENG cameras, linear and non-linear editing, interviewing skills, lighting skills and audio techniques as well as working knowledge or the ability to learn microwave truck operations and the latest IP live equipment. Must be able to work solo or with reporters, producers and anchors in the field or as assigned. This job requires candidate to be on the on call rotation and have the ability to work any shift or schedule as assigned, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.

The candidate chosen will have solid news and sports judgment, ability to work under stressful and pressured situations, and tight deadlines, and be able to generate daily story ideas through sources. A degree in Communications, Journalism or related field is required. Able to carry 40 pounds of equipment easily, be in good health and condition to carry and operate required gear by yourself and ability to stand for long periods of time. You must have a clean driving record for this job.
