Meteorologist/Anchor – Morning and Noon

WTXL ABC 27 and Bounce Tallahassee are seeking a Meteorologist/Anchor for our morning and noon news broadcasts.

Applicant must have a degree in meteorology or related field. Must have at least one year of experience and a strong work ethic. Must have a solid understanding of general meteorology, tropical meteorology, and weather forecasting techniques. Applicant must demonstrate credible forecast delivery and weather reporting while maintaining a pleasant, vibrant persona in a two-hour weekday morning newscast. Applicant must be capable of providing extensive severe weather coverage and performing back-up/support duties for chief meteorologist when necessary. Applicant must also effectively integrate social media participation into everyday tasks.

Applicant should have, or soon be able to earn, AMS and/or NWA certification. Experience with WSI TruVu computer system is a plus. Knowledge of broadcast journalism, news reporting and videography skills are required.

Applicant must be willing to fill in when necessary, make public appearances representing the stations. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. A valid state driver’s license is required and you must be able to pass a driving background check.
