VENICE, Fla. - One of the largest employers on the Suncoast is breaking ground on a new $14 million expansion.

PGT Industries turning dirt this morning on a 90,000 square foot glass factory. It’s exciting news for the homegrown company, which makes windows and doors.

And exciting for the community too, as between 50 and 100 more jobs will soon be coming online.

The new facility is being built on Triple Diamond Boulevard off Knights Trail in North Venice, near the company's manufacturing facility on Technology Drive.

ABC 7’s Josh Taylor is covering the story and will have more tonight on ABC 7 News at 5 & 6.
