Englewood Pioneer Days are the biggest thing going on the Suncoast for Labor Day weekend. The events start Thursday with a sing along and hat making workshop.

On Saturday... the Cardboard Boat Races are a hoot, and Saturday night the adult Shipwreck dance is great fun. The theme for Pioneer Days this year is Englewood Goes Hollywood, so come in costume as your favorite movie star, or just come as a beach bum, that'll work too.

There's a free Fish-a-thon for kids Sunday morning at 7 am at the Tom Adams Fishing pier, and the Labor Day parade marches down Dearborn street Monday morning starting at 9 am. It's a big one, two hours long..
