LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla.- There's growing speculation about what might be inside the University Town Center Mall when it opens next year.
We are learning that it might be filled with some of the top designer brands on the market.
Apple, Gucci, H&M, Ferragamo, and Tumi, are all designers that may be making there way to the luxury Mall at University Town Center, slated to open in October of next year.
"We're going to bring retailers to this area who are not here now. Over 50% of the retailers in the mall are going to be new to this market,” said Mark Chait, the Director of Leasing at Benderson Development for the mall.
Chait believes this is a very unique location that is truly a part of a regional area.
"You know, we already have a million and a half square feet of commercial space in this area with, you know, tremendous retailers,” said Chait.
Located in the heart of Lakewood ranch directly across from University Town Center makes this area a one stop shop. In fact, the center's parking lot was full of shoppers today eagerly awaiting the new high-end mall.
"I think it's really expanding. There didn't used to be so much things to do around here. There's so much more shopping opportunities,” said Heather Hatt.
"I just drove 40 miles to get here. My wife is in there spending my money. I got three daughters that can't wait for that new mall to open up. They've been shopping in all these stores here,” said Joe Carro.
At this time the definitive leases with retailers have not been confirmed, but Chait assures us that the three anchors, Saks fifth avenue, Macy's and Dillards, will set the stage for a high-end mall.
And shoppers are not hesitating to tell us which designers they hope to see.
"Tori Burch, Michael Kors, Kate Spade would be great. I have teenagers so I know Abercrombie and Hollister, if they're going to be there, they'd be very excited," said Trina Falkner.
