Carnivals, band aids and romantic plays on the Suncoast Scene : Feb. 23-25

Doctors Hospital is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary by attempting to set a world record.

 "We wanted to do something big and what's bigger than a world record," says  Marketing Director, Monica Yadav. "We're inviting the community to join us for the most first aid kits assembled in just one hour. The current record is 3000. We're going to try to do 4000."

They need your help. There's a lot of stuff to put in the kits.

" We have 40,000 band aids, 4,000 pairs of scissors , 2,400 medium band aids and a lot of stuff goes into 4,000 kits," says Yadav.

If you want to be a part of a world record, head over to the Doctors Hospital, Saturday at 10 o'clock. Be sure you register first. "

The finished kits will go to the Sarasota County Health Department for first responders.

Also this weekend the Venice Italian American Club is holding it's 29th annual Italian Feast and Carnival .

The festival is Thursday and Friday and start at 4 p.m,. and Saturday and Sunday starting at noon. There will be lots of bands, rides, entertainment and amazing fire works on Saturday night at 9 pm.

The carnival takes place at the Festival Grounds at the Venice Airport.

"CRAZY FOR YOU" is now at the Venice Theatre. It's a love story about a reluctant New York banker.

"What he wants to be is a song and dance man," says director, Steven Flaa. "His banking business takes him to an old theater in Deadrock, Nevada, that he is going to foreclose on. He meets the daughter of the owner and falls in love with her."

Then he puts on a show to win the girl and save the theatre.

Charles Logan and Denae Deshazer play the leads.

"CRAZY FOR YOU" is at the Venice Theatre through March 19th.
