SARASOTA, Fla. - Nancy Kotler fell in love with studio glass the first time she saw it. She was an attorney in Chicago at the time, and she and her husband Phillip took off that weekend to see the glass on exhibit. They were hooked. And they've been collecting the glass ever since.

She says studio glass is a modern technique that was developed in 1962.  This is a method where an individual or a small team can produce hand made glass art work by using a small furnace that can fit into an artist's studio.

Now the Kotlers  are gifting their collection to Ringling Museum. 35 pieces now, and the rest later on. The exhibit opens tonight, and  the glass will be on display through June.

Phillip Kotler is now writing his 54th book. His books on Marketing are world-renowned.

The couple meet in college. They have 3 daughters and nine grandchildren, and will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary in January. Nancy says her greatest joy comes from her family.
