SARASOTA, Fla. - Our Amazing Suncoast Woman is the Sarasota Salvation Army Major Sue Frizzell. She heads up the Christmas Angel Tree Program, a campaign that places more than 2500 tags on trees in churches, businesses and organizations around the Suncoast. Each tag has the name of a child, their clothing sizes and the gift they most want for Christmas. People choose the tags, buy the gifts, the Salvation Army picks them up and then distributes them near Christmas time.

Major Frizzell says she knows the pain that children experience when they are forgotten at Christmas time. And she says making sure their wishes are granted is much more important than the gift, it makes them know someone cares about them, that they are important, and that there is hope for a better tomorrow.

She was nominated as an Amazing Woman by her husband, Ethan Frizzell, Area Commander of the Salvation Army. He says she gives individual attention to each child, and works very hard to make sure each wish is granted, and she does it with a great deal of love.
