Our Amazing Suncoast Woman this week is Ann Morrison, actress, singer, performer, writer and director. On Labor Day 2013 she is opening at the Cabaret "54 Below" in New York City.
Ann started her career in New York, starring in the Stephen Sondheim musical, "Merrily We Roll Along". She won a "Theatre World Award" for her performance. That was followed by many on and off Broadway roles, starring roles in the London Theatre and cabaret performances in New York. She was recently named "Best Actress" in the National Solo Theatre competition. She performed a play she wrote, called "Linda Lovely Goes to Broadway".
Linda Lovely was a member of Ann's "Theatre with a Purpose". Linda had Downs Syndrome and Alzheimer's. Ann's real love is working with adults like Linda, who are mentally and physically challenged. And she says although she will continue going back and forth to Broadway, she will always come home to her real love, the work she is doing with Children's Haven and other Suncoast Facilities.
