MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - One of ABC 7's Amazing Women of the Suncoast has died.

We first met Mary Fran Carroll in July 2013. She's one of the few people who has a bridge and a building named after her, yet never gave a penny to build either of them.

As a testament to her work to develop Lakewood Ranch, the bridge over the Braden River is named after her. And for her leadership in developing Glenridge on Palmer Ranch, the community's nursing center holds her namesake.

Carroll was 92 years old.
