SARASOTA COUNTY - Continuing our 7 Who Care series, we take a look at the youngest honoree in the series. John Potvin is just 18, but altruism has been ingrained in him, and it began long before he turned 18.

ABC 7 caught up with him during his annual Farm Share event, in which he and his Key Club compatriots give 42,000 pounds of fresh food to those in need.

That is just one of the many undertakings for the Pine View School grad, who is already enrolled at the University of Florida for his freshman year. He is also involved in Meals on Wheels, the World Peace Initiative Peace Jam, Special Olympics, and so many more.

Not only does he throw himself into these undertakings, but he also rallies others to help. "Everyone has a unique talent. Take it, and see how it makes everyone else better. I am with friends and family while helping people. What could be better?"

School and club volunteering aside, John loves sports. So what does he do? He volunteers his time to referee and coach youth basketball.

There is an old saying that is a very apt description of John Potvin, Jr. "When you need something done, ask a busy person." John is always busy, and he always gets it done.
