SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - There are lots of ways to celebrate the holidays here on the Suncoast.

Some of the stars from the West Coast Black Theatre's "Motown Christmas" give you a "Millennium's take on the holidays."

Performer Joey James says,"It is called "Millennium Fresh," It's a holiday themed show from the view of the millennial, various skits that will have you rolling on the floor laughing."

It's December 26th at 8 p.m. at the West Coast Black Theatre.

On Saturday, December 23rd, it's "Christmas on Main" in Lakewood Ranch.

It's sponsored by Grace Community Church. Outreach Director Jennifer Obenauer says, "We'll have a 50 foot Ferris wheel, a train, a lot of carnival rides, crafts, snow, snow slides, a reindeer ride, cookies, pictures with Santa, all free. It runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Then at 8 p.m. everyone gathers to sing carols, hear the Christmas story and light candles as everyone sings Silent Night."

Here's something else for the whole family. The Sailor Circus presents "High Flying Holidays," in the Sailor Circus Arena December 27 thru December 30th.

Jennifer Mitchell, Executive Vice President of the Circus Arts Conservatory says, "It's an annual tradition. 70 students are involved, ages 8 to 18. They come together to celebrate the holidays circus style. You are going to see 20 different disciplines in the air, on the ground, and it's just pure family entertainment."

You can celebrate Christmas Eve with world class music right in your own backyard. It happens in a big tent on the campus of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.

It's the Perlman Music Program Suncoast Winter Residency.

Margaret Ann Behrends, PMPS Director of Development says, "On December 24th, Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. you can come to hear the students. You can enjoy world class music, then go about completing your Christmas Eve plans.

During the 17 day program, world class violinist Itzhak Perlman will conduct, teach and play.

Margaret Ann says "We have 34 students from all over the world. They are the stars of tomorrow. The public is invited to come and see how world class musicians are trained."

Finally, Selby Gardens presents "Lights in Bloom" December 21st thru December 30th, and it is magical.

The entire nine acres of the gardens are aglow.
