CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL (WWSB) - Charlotte County K-9 Deputies were utilized in two separate incidents on Tuesday, March 14.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Tony Noble and Joseph Lawrence were both arrested after being apprehended by the K9's.
Deputies say Noble was a suspected prowler and was apprehended by a Charlotte County K9. Noble was charged in Charlotte County for resisting without violence and will separately answer for his warrants out of Sarasota County.
Additionally, deputies say Lawrence was involved in another incident where he fled from a vehicle and was apprehended by the K9. Lawrence was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (LSD), resisting arrest without violence, violation of probation, and operating a motor vehicle with no driver’s license.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office currently has 7 canines that are dual-purpose trained for patrol work and drug detection. Also, they have 3 single-purpose canines used solely for drug detection.
