SARASOTA, FL--- The state Board of Education is considering several changes to the Common Core standards currently being used educate students.

A total of 99 changes will be voted on during the February meeting.  52 of the additional standards deal with calculus being taught to all high school students and not just those in advance placement classes.  Supporters say the changes will help students get better prepared for college and the workforce. While opponents say it will cause more students to struggle.  Coming up on ABC 7 at 6 we explore both sides of the issue.
