Bradenton, FL – Blake Medical Center is proud to announce Patient Navigator, Patty Madsen, RN, is the recipient of this year’s Stephen H. Goldman M.D. Keystone Award by the Center for Building Hope. Now in its 13th year, the annual Goldman award recognizes three exceptional individuals for their dedication and contribution to the local cancer community. One physician, one medical professional and one lay person were honored during the Celebration of Hope Dinner this year.

The Stephen H. Goldman, M.D. Keystone Award was established in 2001 to honor and recognize the passion Dr. Goldman brought to both his professional and personal life in supporting those impacted by cancer.  Recipients of this prestigious award are selected by Center for Building Hope’s Award Selection Committee comprised of members of the CBH Board of Trustees, previous award winners and representatives from hospitals in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Patty Madsen, RN has been a nurse at Blake Medical Center for 34 years and a patient navigator since 2010.  In her role, Madsen provides support, education and individualized attention to oncology patients.  From providing a shoulder to cry on, to arming her patients with information and resources to ready them for their fight against cancer, Patty’s exceptional commitment to patient care and unparalleled compassion shows in everything she does.
