As elder population grows, opportunity is seen

SARASOTA, FL - It's no secret that the population of elderly people will to continue to rise throughout the state.

That is being made clear at the current Florida Conference on Aging that is underway in Orlando.

Over the course of the next 17 years, we can expect to see an 88% increase in people 65 and older.

What will the positive impact of more retirees coming to the Suncoast be? ABC 7 Reporter John McQuiston is taking a look at that.
