The US Coast Guard suspended the search for missing boater Fraser Horne at sunset this evening. Horne and his dog had gone missing from Egmont Key Friday. The Coast Guard found his 30 foot vessel "Golden Rush" off Mead Point on just before midnight Friday. The engines were running and the boat was in neutral. Horne's wallet, keys and shoes were all aboard the boat.
The dog, a golden retriever, apparently swam to shore by itself. It was found at Fort Desoto Saturday morning.
Michele Horne, Fraser’s wife said, “I also would like to thank the Coast Guard and the many other rescue agencies who searched for Fraser. This is an emotionally difficult time and we ask everyone to respect our family and friends privacy while we grieve for Fraser.”
