SARASOTA, Fl (WWSB)-The experts say both should be spectacular. A Super moon occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon's perigee, is closest to Earth. This makes the moon appear up to 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual.
The sight is best just after moon rise (at 6:02 Sunday evening) and a few minutes before Moon set (at 7:56 am Monday morning).
