CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Tony Stewart will not race Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, the third Sprint Cup race he's skipped since his car struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr. during a sprint car race. Stewart has been in seclusion since the Aug. 8 incident at an upstate New York dirt track that remains under investigation.

UNDATED (AP) — Jim Kelly shows no evidence of sinus cancer three months after the Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback completed radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Dr. Peter Costantino says in a release issued by New York City's Lennox Hill Hospital that Kelly's level of functioning is essentially back to normal and he's free of the pain he was experiencing.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jose Bautista's three-run home run highlighted Toronto's five-run sixth inning in a 9-5 win over Milwaukee. Colby Rasmus added a two-run homer in the ninth to help the Blue Jays win for just the second time on their eight-game road trip.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Chase Utley's go-ahead single capped a three-run fourth inning and was the difference in Philadelphia's 4-3 win over Seattle. The Mariners are battling Detroit for the AL's second wild-card spot and lost for just the third time in 10 games.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians first baseman Nick Swisher is having arthroscopic surgery on both knees and is done for the season. Swisher has underperformed after getting a four-year, $56 million contract from the Indians before last season. Before he was sidelined, Swisher was batting .208 with eight home runs and 42 RBIs in 97 games.
