BRADENTON (WWSB)- Lee Middle School students have collected about $2,000 worth of food and supplies for hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico and Big Pine Key.
The 44 members of the Future Business Leaders of America came up with the idea on their own, after seeing how badly hurricane Irma impacted some of their classmates.
They’ve also sent donations to a school in Texas impacted by Harvey.
The FBLA program at Lee is still young, it only began last year. And they’re already prepping for their next big project. They’ll be collecting supplies to deliver to the local homeless population during the upcoming holiday season. .
