Manatee County, Fla., - Anna Maria beaches don't have enough lifeguards according to a city commissioner.
Commissioner Gene Aubry is calling for the construction of 12 new lifeguard towers along the island's beaches.
The proposal comes after the drowning death of 14 year old, Dushay Nelson, who's body was found Sunday after being swept away in a current the day before.
The Anna Maria city commission is expected to address the issue at Thursday's meeting.
