VENICE, FL - Earlier this week Venice leaders approved a downtown test site for a new parking plan.

The move will add five additional spaces in front of City Hall, but motorists will have to reverse angle their vehicles into the spaces.

If it goes well, the concept could be rolled out to other portions of the downtown area.

While more parking spaces will be added, W. Venice Ave. will go from two lanes down to one lane in the test zone.

There are also concerns that the reverse angle parking will be difficult for some elderly and inexperienced drivers.
