NORTH PORT, FL. - An ROTC instructor from North Port High School is behind bars for sending sexual text messages to a teenage girl.

North Port Police say the victim, who is 16-years-old, and her parents contacted them on Sunday to report that the girl got inappropriate (sexually suggestive) text messages from 47-year-old Ronald Barche.

Investigators charged Barche with Use of Computer Service or Electronic Device to Seduce/Solicit a Child.

He is being held in the Sarasota County Jail.

According to Scott Ferguson with Sarasota County Schools, Barche has worked at North Port High School since it opened 7 years ago.
