PORT CHARLOTTE - A Port Charlotte tattoo parlor owner is behind bars accused of raping a woman in his shop.

41-year-old Roger Dale Wax of North Port was arrested after a female victim told detectives they went to a bar then later to Wax's business, Skin Mechanix Tattoo Parlor at 3854 Tamiami Tr.

A rape examination kit was obtained at Fawcett Memorial Hospital where the victim told detectives that at the business, they sat on a couch and Wax began touching her, tore her pants off, and told him to stop several times. She said she began kicking a window to make an alarm go off to no avail.

The woman said she managed to get from under Wax, he tackled her and she hit her head on the floor, and then forced her to have sex. Wax then drove the woman to a motel where she was staying and dropped her off.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the business for crime scene personnel to collect evidence.

Wax was arrested and taken to the Charlotte County Jail. He is charged with Kidnapping and Sexual Battery.
