SARASOTA COUNTY, FL. - A DeSoto County teacher is charged with molesting a child.

45-year-old Aida Schomburg was arrested on Saturday by North Port Police.

A report says the victim is a 4-year-old girl that told investigators that Schomburg was, "mean". The girl went on to say that Schomburg touched her in inappropriate places.

The victim told authorities that the incidents happened four different times with the last being on June 20th.

Schomburg denies the claims.

Meanwhile, the superintendant of DeSoto County Schools says she is suspended.

During the school year, Schomburg is a kindergarten teacher at memorial elementary school. During the summer she is a substitute teacher.

The superintendant says the school board's first priority is to protect their students and closely monitor the situation.

Schomburg is out of the Sarasota County Jail on bond. She is charged with one count of sexual battery and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation.
