NORTH PORT - Imagine making water out of the air we breathe. The technology is here, and can now go in your home.
It's a simple concept that turns Florida humidity into crisp, clean drinking water. Fresh water...hot or cold, available when you want it. But you don't have to buy it and you don't need plastic bottles.
It comes from a machine with the name that says it all: Liquid-Air.
"Quite simply, it's just a way you get purified water into your body and into your home by using the humidity that's all around us in Florida," says Mike Evans, Eco-Smart Regional Director.
Especially this time of year. The Liquid-Air machine can be used inside or out. Inside it makes about 5 gallons a day. Outside, two to three times that.
"That water runs through a series of filtration at the bottom including UV, so it is filtered water. If you're not using water, it starts that process up again and purifies the water."
While all this is going on, this machine is also purifying and dehumidifying your home's air. Clean air, and free water. Now that's Living Green.
So how much does this "free" water cost? Just under $1,600, so it's not for everyone.
But for those who can afford it and want to live a green lifestyle, it makes a lot of sense.
