SARASOTA - Sarasota Police are working a shooting this afternoon.

It happened at the Sunrise Village Apartments Monday near the intersection of 19th Street and Gillespie Avenue in Sarasota.

Witnesses tell ABC 7 they saw a young man come out of an apartment with blood on his face.

The victim, 20-year-old Willie Hadley, was airlifted to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the hand and face. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives spent the morning interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Several of the apartments were blocked off with crime scene tape.
