SARASOTA (WWSB) - One of the most popular actresses of the 1970s is on the Suncoast--and she likes what she sees.
Ali MacGraw, 79, is a native New Yorker who now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She says she sees one striking similarity between her adopted hometown and Sarasota.
“We’re both smallish cities with gigantic cultural energy...I now want to live in a smaller city--which I do--but I want all that world class culture, and Sarasota has it too," MacGraw said.
MacGraw won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for her co-starring role in “Love Story.”
She spoke to a luncheon at “Michael’s on East” as part of a fundraiser for the Hermitage Artist Retreat of Englewood.
