SARASOTA (WWSB) - A cold front moved past yesterday and is located south of the state this morning. High pressure will build in behind the front today and winds will continue with a northerly flow. Cooler air will continue to filter into the Suncoast and, despite the wall to wall sunshine, our high temperatures will only reach the low 60′s. Winds will become lighter tonight allowing the coldest air to settle near the ground and bringing even colder night time low temperatures. Expect area wide low to bottom out in the mid to lower 40′s.
After the cool start tomorrow the shifting winds will cut off the flow of cold air from the north. This will permit a warming trend that will bring us back into the 70′s. We may see a few more clouds this weekend but there will still be mostly sunny and rain free skies. A low moving out of Texas will bring a cool front past the Suncoast on Sunday evening. Like yesterdays front, the Sunday front will move through dry with only shifting winds. It will bring down another shot of cooler air and start our our new work week with highs in the 60′s once again.
