SARASOTA, Fl (WWSB) - On Monday, a Sarasota couple is accused of trying to sell stolen items from a vehicle they allegedly burglarized in Siesta Key to local pawnshops.
Detectives were alerted Sunday of a bicycle, laptop, clothing, and several items stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of Stickney Point Road.
Deputies say 34-year-old Jonah Kimber brought the stolen bicycle to two pawn shops, but was denied before visiting a third, where he was successful. At the same time, deputies say 29-year-old Micah Kimbler attempted to sell stolen jumper cables the Let Go website.
Through the investigation, Sarasota detectives began communicating with Micah online and on Tuesday, agreed to meet with her to purchase the stolen items.
Deputies say when they arrived, both Jonah and Micah were taken into custody. Upon their arrest, deputies recovered a needle, prescription pill, and various drug paraphernalia in Jonah’s possession.
Jonah Kimber is charged with three counts of Dealing in Stolen Property, Providing False Information to a Pawnbroker, Possession of Hydromorphone, two counts of Possession of Narcotic Equipment, and two counts of Driving While License Suspended.
Micah Kimbler is charged with two counts of Dealing in Stolen Property.
Both remain in custody today at the Sarasota County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
