VENICE (WWSB) - Residents and visitors will soon see a brand new development when they enter the City of Venice through the KMI Bridge. After years of getting plans in order, the Venice Planning Commission approved the Porto Vista development at The Fisherman’s Wharf.
Cassata Miller Development will build four, 10-unit condominium buildings on the 7.8 acre piece of land that has been empty for decades. Each building will also include five residential stories above parking.
In order to do this, the city had to approve a rezone of the property from “commercial, intensive and marine park” to “commercial, general.”
This new approval will also allow an expansion of the Dockside Waterfront Grill, a new dock-use building and would keep public access to the marina and all its rentals.
The developers hope to break ground by March 2019.
