First Alert Weather: Widespread showers & storms by midweek

Today will be a beautiful day with sunny skies, and highs in the upper 60′s and low 70′s (average high is 73). The winds will be light and variable, and then become east to northeast around 5-10 mph this afternoon. As for tonight, expect mostly clear conditions, with lows in the low 50′s (average low is 53). The weather then changes by tomorrow night, as a system will track into the area bringing widespread shower activity. And these showers will continue all day on Thursday, with even a few possible strong thunderstorms. It’s also possible a squall line could develop, bringing gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning strikes, so you’ll want to stay tuned to ABC-7, the MySuncoast.com web page or Facebook, and or download our ABC-7 weather app, for the latest on this developing situation. The rain looks to taper off by Friday morning, and then we’ll be in store for a beautiful weekend with sunny conditions, and highs in the mid to upper 60′s. Have a nice Tuesday everyone.
