North Port (WWSB) - A unique playground is now open to the public in North Port. Ribbon was cut Saturday morning on the Boundless Adventures playground located in the Garden of the Five Senses on Pan American Boulevard.

It’s a playground that’s designed for children of all ages and young adults with disabilities. The playground features special swings, slides and all different types of equipment.

“this playground features a pour and play surface which means people with limited mobility or wheelchairs will find it just as accessible as other patrons would,” Tricia Wisner, Parks and Recreation Manager for North Port. “It has a sway fun glider which is behind me and that allows patrons in wheelchairs or sitting, standing to enjoy the same piece of equipment at the same time and that is unique. Most of the time there is a separate playground for people with special needs, here everybody’s invited.”

The city of North Port spent nearly 600-thousand dollars to have this special playground built.
