MANATEE COUNTY, Fl (WWSB) - An investigation is underway after three-people were involved in a fatal crash, early Saturday morning.

Around 3:40 a.m. one vehicle was northbound on US 301 in the right lane north of 25th Ct E.

A non-motorist was improperly walking northbound in the right lane on US 301 north of 25th Ct E, according to a release from the Florida High way Patrol. As the second vehicle was northbound on US 301 in the right lane north of 25th Ct E approaching the first vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle failed to observe the non-motorist in the roadway, according to the release.

The front right of the first vehicle collided with the non-motorist. The non-motorist vaulted north off of the first vehicle and into the right lane.

The driver of the second vehicle failed to observe the non-motorist in the roadway, according to the release. The front of vehicle two collided with and traveled over the non-motorist.

The first vehicle then came to a controlled stop on the west shoulder of US 301. The second vehicle came to a controlled stop on the east shoulder of US 301, according to the release.

The non-motorist came to final rest in the right lane of US 301.

According to the release from the Florida High way Patrol, the non-motorist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian will not be disclosed until next of kin has been made, according FHP.
